Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Romans 12:9
Pastor
Rick L. Garner is the second child born to Henry and Shirley Garner. His entire life has been lived as a dedicated soldier in God's army. From an early age he has served the church in various capacities up until his call to preach on July 12, 2004. He received his license to preach on November 7, 2004 at the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. In the following year of 2005, he was ordained at the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. After brief stints as interim pastor of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and the Warren Hill Missionary Baptist Church of North Little Rock, Arkansas, he was installed as the Pastor of the Union Missionary Baptist Church of Conway on December 11, 2011.
Pastor Garner received his education at Conway High School, the University of Central Arkansas, and Central Baptist College. In addition, Pastor Garner has been an employee of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation for over 30 years. He is the proud husband of Camron Garner and they have two sons, Quinton and Jaelon.
At Union Baptist, Pastor Garner is affectionately known as “Pastor Love” because of his belief that love is the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:34-40, 1 Corinthians 13:13) and therefore, the greatest demonstration of our faith (1 John 4:7-21). Love is the foundation of Pastor Garner’s ministry in serving, preaching, teaching, reaching the lost, and leading God’s people.
To this end, Pastor Garner has committed his life and ministry to give glory to his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and the Bible’s word as all authority and truth, Pastor Garner is determined to be a good solider until he hears the words of the Master: “well done good and faithful servant”.
